REQUEST A HOMESTAY
We offer homestays with local families so our students can get a better idea of what life is like in Oaxaca, as well as practice their Spanish by living more immersively. Most of our options are with families in and adjacent to the historic downtown (el centro histórico), but still within walking distance of the school—anywhere from 10-30 minutes.
We also offer one option in San Felipe which is a nice area a little closer to the mountains that is a bit further away (maybe 45 minutes walking but 10 minutes in a taxi). Our goal in the future is to try to extend our homestay program to other parts of the city, so that students can get a better understanding of life in Oaxaca outside of the more touristy areas.
CURRENT COST:
Single person per night, including breakfast: $480MXN
Two people in shared room, per night, including breakfast: $850MXN
*Most homestays have this price, options outside of the city center and its nearby neighborhoods might vary up or down for housing; e.g., the option in San Felipe is slightly higher. Please check with us about current options and prices.
